IDEA Data Solutions: The Highlights 2024
As 2024 comes to an end, we wanted to reflect on a successful year filled with innovation, growth, and collaboration. From transformative software updates to engaging with the global yachting community at industry events, this year has been one of progress and achievement. We’ve grown our team, our yacht management solutions, and learned plenty along the way. Here’s a look at the highlights of our journey throughout the year.
Pioneering Software Enhancements
At the core of IDEA Data Solutions is our commitment to providing cutting-edge yacht management tools. In 2024, we introduced several updates to our flagship product, IDEA YACHT, each designed to simplify workflows and empower our users.
- Release 2024.1: Launched early in the year, this update was a game-changer for onboard operations. The redesigned frontend for the Logs and Rounds module introduced drag-and-drop functionality and step-by-step wizards, making it easier than ever to create and manage rounds. The Maintenance module saw the addition of a customisable history table, allowing users to track maintenance more effectively. We also introduced Dark Mode in the IDEA App, enhancing usability during nighttime operations.
- Release 2024.2: A mid-year update brought a host of exciting features, including updates to our 360 Photo Viewer that allows users to view photos of vessels at different build stages, providing a new dimension to maintenance planning. Enhanced budget enforcement tools for purchase orders ensured better financial oversight, while the mobile app’s extended layout drawing module made adding documents and creating snag entries during rounds a breeze.
- Release 2024.3: By August, IDEA YACHT was further refined with expanded layout filters, improvements to the Snag List module, and additional mobile functionalities. These updates were tailored to address real-world challenges faced by yacht crews, management companies, and shipyards.

Become Part of the FLEET!
At the 2024 Monaco Yacht Show, we unveiled IDEA FLEET, a comprehensive fleet management portal designed to streamline operations for shipyards, management companies, and fleet owners. Fully integrated with IDEA YACHT, this solution enables centralised documentation, maintenance scheduling, inventory tracking, and crew management across multiple vessels. Whether for vessels above 400 GT or below as part of our new IDEA GT package, IDEA FLEET allows all to be managed under one roof.

Milestone Achievements: IDEA Snag List
One of the year’s standout achievements was the growing adoption of the IDEA Snag List module. By mid-2024, over 900 snag entries had been logged across our online installations. This tool has proven to be an invaluable resource for enhancing communication and saving time, bridging gaps between onboard teams, management companies, and shipyards to sort snags and promptly sort necessary repairs. Partnering for Success
Collaboration is at the heart of IDEA and we were privileged to once again partner with our fluid analysis strategic partner Spectro | Jet-Care to ensure that all your onboard fluid analysis orders were completed with the touch of a button. We were also delighted to partner with Ultimate Catamarans GmbH to ensure that every Spaceline Catamaran will be delivered with IDEA Data Solutions’ technical software package IDEA YACHT. Watch this space, as we have a very special strategic partnership to announce in the new year.
Feedback is key!
This year, we were delighted to get feedback from the crew of SY Anna Christina, who utilise IDEA YACHT to streamline their operations. By implementing our software, the vessel’s operations saw a remarkable transformation. Captain William Morris shared glowing feedback, emphasising how IDEA YACHT enhanced the overall efficiency of their processes.

Top of the Class
Understanding the importance of continuous learning and ensuring that crews are using IDEA to its full potential, we launched the IDEA Academy this year. This online educational platform provides yacht crews and management teams with in-depth training on our software. With courses tailored to meet the diverse needs of our users, the IDEA Academy offers professional certification and the flexibility to study at one’s own pace. We’ve seen tremendous enthusiasm for this initiative and look forward to expanding it further in 2025.
Engaging with the Industry and our Vessels at Trade Shows
2024 was an abundant year for industry engagement, as we attended some of the most prestigious yachting trade shows around the world. As always, these events provided invaluable opportunities to connect with clients, showcase our innovations, and gather insights to refine our solutions. From Monaco to Fort Lauderdale, METSTRADE in Amsterdam to Cannes, and many more, we were delighted to catch up with you all whilst dodging inanimate objects falling on our heads (ask us next time you see us).
