IDEA Yacht (a product by IDEA Data Solutions GmbH) was founded in 2001 in Dusseldorf Germany, under the original name of IDEA Nautic and Data Solutions GmbH by Sebastian and Klaus Allebrodt.

Since then, we have been distributing our yacht management software primarily across Europe and the US. To date, we have successfully completed more than 900 projects on yachts, ranging from 20m to 180m. We have a market share of approximately 60% in the 50+m market segment.

In 2008, the Company was acquired by the SpecTec Group, which is one of the leading software companies in the commercial shipping industry. Henceforth to be known as SpecTec GmbH. Ten years later, in 2018 we became independent again, and rebranded ourselves as IDEA Data Solutions GmbH.

We define ourselves as a forward thinking, customer-centric company, taking a hands-on approach to continuously meet and exceed the needs and requirements of our customers.

Our complete, easy-to-use software solutions have been developed to assist the efficient day-to-day management of yachts, minimising costs, streamlining mission-critical processes and routine tasks whilst safeguarding vessel assets and seafarers alike.

Our solutions have been developed and are regularly updated by our skilled, qualified software engineers, with decades of experience in the field.
